ShiftEdit supports SSH key authentication.
There are security benefits as your password is never shared so sudo access is not possible and keys can be revoked without changing your password.
Using key authentication allows you to increase security by disabling password login on your server.
To start using key authentication you need to generate a public key from your account:
Add this key to your server.
Then when you add a site in ShiftEdit select "Logon Type: Key authentication".
